LAS VEGAS SHOOTING
At least 59 people are dead and 527 injured after attending a Las Vegas music festival. 64 year old Stephen Craig Paddock unleashed thousands of rounds of ammunition into a crowd of 22, 000 people from his hotel room 365m away. Police found over 19 rifles in his hotel room, along with a heap of ammunition. It took the police 72 minutes from the first call to find Paddock. They used explosives to blow the door off so they could enter, but by then, it was too late as Paddock had already shot himself dead.

MOTHER HID HER DEAD SON IN A DRAIN FOR 3 YEARS
Sinead Connett, a 29 year old career woman, hid the body of her dead baby in a drain for 3 years. She concealed her pregnancy from family and friends before giving birth in the home that she shared with her unsuspecting boyfriend. She then hid the body in her car boot, and drove to her parents' home 3 days later. Wrapping the tiny baby in a towel and several plastic bags, Connett shoved him into a garden drain, where he lay for 3 years, until discovered by a plumber. She will be jailed for 12 months.

A teenager has died from a tragic accident. Ben Shaw, 15, suffered serious injuries when he was crushed by a 98kg bar weight at a Brisbane gym. He died in hospital.
